3400 B.C to Modern Day

3400 B.C.

The concepts of analog and digital information, as we understand them today, did not exist in 3400 B.C. However, forms of both analog and digital-like information were present.

Analog information appeared in the form of cave paintings, carvings, music, speech, sundials, and shadows. These forms represented information continuously, corresponding to real-world phenomena occurring in 3400 B.C.

Digital information at the time was discrete and broken down into countable units, often used for record-keeping. Cuneiform writing and tally systems are examples of digital-like information that broke down data into individual units, similar to modern bits or characters.
